--Pattie Porter travels to Ottawa, Canada to work with Cinnie
Noble, CINERGY® to begin an accreditation process as a lead trainer
for the Basic Conflict Coaching workshops.
-- The
International Forum of Visual Practitioners (IFVP) holds their 13th
annual conference in Chicago. Visual Practitioners are those who use a
variety of visual methods including graphic facilitation, graphic
recording, 3-D image modeling, and pictures as metaphors to support
groups think, grow and change whether in a team setting or an
organization experiencing change. Pattie Porter had the wonderful
opportunity to be mentored by some of the top visual practitioners in
the world including Brandy Agerbeck, Lynn Carruthers, Martha McGinnis,
John Ward, David Sibbett and Nancy Margulies.

certified Historically Underutilized

--WELEAD, a network affiliate to the National Association of Female

--Pattie Porter provides coaching and mentoring services to a
facilitator team in Dallas, TX for the Transportation Security
Administration Model Workplace Program office.
June 2008
--Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Model Workplace Program
gives Pattie Porter a three-week assignment to provide
train-the-trainer courses for TSA facilitators. Pattie led the
facilitation delivery team in Oakland, CA, Las Vegas, and Memphis, TN.
May 2008
--Organizations and employers can now request a one-hour presentation
be delivered to their staff from the Conflict
Management Series. The series includes the presentations "Knock!
Knock! Who's There?....Conflict. Understanding Your Conflict Management
Style", "Got Conflict? ...Getting to the Crux of the Problem" and
"Conflict and Change: Managing the Transitions." For more information

--Conflict Connections, Inc. traveled to Colorado Springs, CO to work
with the TSA Operations Center delivering Conflict Management
Essentials course.
--Conflict Connections participated in San Antonio PodCamp
Numero Dos to learn more about how social media including blogging and
podcasting can expand our networking and services. Soon, we will have a
new blog called the Texas Conflict

April 2008
--The International Association of Facilitators (IAF) held their annual
conference in Atlanta, GA. Pattie Porter along with co-presenters
Martha McGinnis and Cheryl Kartes delivered a highly participatory and
well-received workshop entitled "Big Picture Facilitation: Color and
Image Build Engagement, Results and Long-term Impact." In this
three-hour workshop, 30 participants entered the graphic recording
world learning how to use drawing in their facilitation work.
-- Pattie Porter becomes a member of the International Forum of Visual Practitioners

--Conflict Connections, Inc. traveled to Nashville, TN providing
consultation, coaching and mentoring to TSA facilitators.
March 2008
--Conflict Connections, Inc. traveled to Casper, Wyoming to work with
the TSA Facilitator team
delivering Cooperative Problem-Solving for Managers' course.
-- Pattie Porter participated as a project team member, graphic
facilitator and trainer in Mediators Beyond Borders (MBB) first
national mission, the Hurricane Katrina project. The team traveled to
Biloxi, Mississippi to work with the Mississippi Mediation Project and
the community at large to share in a day of dialogue and surface the
major issues the communities are dealing with as they rebuild and
revitalize from the impacts of Hurricane Katrina. Then, we traveled
back
to New Orleans to participate in a destruction tour to see the
devastation in the Lower 9th ward and get a better understanding from a
locale resident of how the recovery process has been slow. We also
worked with the community advocates and members of the dispute
resolution community for a day-long event.Pattie now serves as a
Subcommittee Chair for MBB's Training Committee.

-- Pattie Porter joins the ranks of members of The Texas Association of
Mediators (TAM) and attends their annual conference in Galveston, Texas.
February 2008
-- Patricia Porter joins ADR Vantage, Inc. and the mediation
roster for the United Parcel Service (UPS).
-- Conflict Connections, Inc. is interviewed by journalist, Laura
Lorek from the San Antonio News-Express. Ms. Lorek interviewed
entrepreneurs who participate in Co-Working San Antonio. Co-working is
an opportunity for self-employed entrepreneurs who work in the field to
gather once a week at La Taza (The Cup) Coffee House to work together,
network and share ideas. Click

January 2008
-- Conflict Connections, Inc. joins the conflict management team of
Chi-Resolutions and the Collaborative Action Dispute Resolution (CADR)
Program of the Department of Interior. Pattie Porter is invited to
CADR's kick-off conference to co-facilitate the 3 1/2 day conference in
Albuquerque, NM while also providing graphic facilitation services. DOI
employees representing Labor Relations, Human Resources, EEO
counselors, Bureau Dispute Resolution Specialists, Solicitor's office,
and the Federal Executive Board attend. Pattie also provides a 3 hour
workshop on "Mediating Reasonable Accommodation Disputes."
--Patricia Porter earns from the Texas
Mediator Credentialing Association (TMCA) the "Credentialed
Distinguished Mediator," the highest distinction a mediator can achieve
in Texas.
--The Hill Country Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) located in Kerrville
and serving multiple Texas counties accepts Pattie Porter as mediator.
Volunteering as a mediator for the DRC allows Pattie to give back to
the community by assisting in a variety of mediation cases including
divorce and business matters.
--As a founding member of Mediator's
Beyond Borders (MBB),
Pattie has joined the Hurricane Katrina project team that will work in
the communities of New Orleans and Mississippi supporting the
revitalization and conflict management integration in these
communities. Pattie will provide graphic facilitation services during
the events in early March.
--Conflict Connections, Inc. becomes an associate with Cohen &
Associates from Houston, TX to provide critical incident stress
debriefings to the workplace.
